WordCityStudio: The Event of a Thread

Ann Hamilton’s spectacular interactive performance environment, “The Event of a Thread” debuted at the Park Avenue Armory on December 6th. When entering the huge gallery, built in 1861 for National Guard militia training, the vast scrim of parachute silk provides initial awe-factor. Participants immediately take to the giant swings suspended from the ceiling, becoming active players in this immersive experience. Connected to a series of pulleys and weights, the pumping motion of the swings causes shimmers and ripples across and through the enormous swath of fabric, while some spectators, lying on the floor, view the effects from below:

Swing era, for an hour or more, with live actors at tables, deep in writing reveries, and a singer live, from a balcony above, whose voice, recorded on a vintage 34″ vinyl manufacturing machine, plays each day on a fresh LP at noon. Rumor has it that at 6:45, at subsequent performances, homing pigeons will be released from their wooden cages into the space.

Who can write more clearly than you concerning such
things! I assure you, nobody! I enjoyed the guide and assume you’ve
got more such stuff? If so, so please note it as it’s
somewhat uncommon for me in the current instant,
and not just for me, that is my own view. I personally can discover an in-depth guide of yours and also be
conscious of all the news and the latest data.
