Sign up for an account:

Twitter will suggest people to follow based on your interests:

You can search for people to follow:

Browse categories of interest:

Twitter will walk you through the beginning steps:

Don’t forget to write your Twitter bio and to upload a photo/avatar.  You can also customize your background:

It’ll look like this (I’m using Micheal Moore’s profile as an example):

Write your first tweet!

This is what it looks like when you follow someone:

You can connect to and interact with others after you’ve followed some accounts.  To retweet, just run the mouse over the top right hand corner of a tweet and click on ‘retweet.’  To reply to the tweet, and to respond to or modify the tweet, click ‘reply’:

If you choose to retweet, it will look like this:

This is what it looks like to @reply to someone:
