Eastwooding!

Can an empty chair have the power to sway public opinion?

Chris Rock certainly had fun with Clint Eastwood’s appearance at the Republican National Convention, talking to an empty chair as a “stand-in” for President Obama on August 30, 2012:

The president’s response? “This seat’s taken.”

Of course Comedy Central weighed in, from Jon Stewart’s “Fistful of Awesome” segment to Colbert grilling “Eastwood” as an empty chair:

Soon the term “Eastwooding” coursed through and continues on, with photos of fingers pointing at empty chairs flooding social and mainstream media feeds.

And the fun continued this weekend with the return of Saturday Night Live.

(You knew the chair had to be part of it…)
