Tiny Libraries, Big Communities
The Little Free Library is a non-profit organization-turned-grassroots movement that is helping communities build little libraries in front yards, on sidewalks, and in community gardens. The libraries are sometimes built with a genre in mind (children’s books; adult trade)… The adorable libraries look like overgrown birdhouses. “Plant” one in your front yard and watch the flowers of community blossom right before your eyes. I recently wrote a feature about this trend and how it’s manifesting in the publishing world on the website Publishing Perspectives.
